(jp) = The future of Ukraine’s military support from the US and its European allies is uncertain due to doubts expressed by some leading Republican politicians. Despite acknowledging that the Ukraine crisis is more than merely a territorial dispute, some Republicans have adopted a non-interventionist stance, concerned that the war will be prolonged to favour US interests. EU politicians are concerned about the Republican stance and hope more pro-Ukrainian elements of the party will emerge to counterbalance the increased scepticism regarding Ukraine’s ongoing conflict. Ukraine must demonstrate that military aid is not prolonging the war, and it must achieve significant progress in the ongoing conflict to secure continued support from the US and its allies.
